We invite all Sandwich independent businesses to join Shop Sandwich First, a new initiative of the Sandwich Chamber of Commerce.

The mission of Shop Sandwich First is to: 

• EDUCATE about the depth and scope of the goods and services offered in Sandwich.
• CELEBRATE and preserve the unique character and traditions that shape and define our hometown.
• STRENGTHEN community by supporting and promoting a healthy local economy.

Why join?

We could tell you all sorts of good reasons, but first of all it's been proven that shop local campaigns mean more business for you. A survey from last holiday season showed that independent retailers in cities with active Shop Local movements reported much stronger holiday sales than those in cities without a Shop Local campaign. This was true in a similar survey from the year before.

Who should join?

All independent businesses - bakers, contractors, lawyers, accountants, car repairmen, retailers, restaurants, home businesses and many more!!

What are the benefits of joining?

• You will be included in a directory of local independent businesses which will be distributed through the Sandwich Enterprise.
  
  
• You will be able to participate in a "Shop Sandwich First Day" on September 20, 2009 which will be promoted by radio personality Paul Parent, who will be broadcasting from Sandwich Agway.
  
  
• Listing on our website
  
  
• Educational programs on shopping and eating locally, as well as green living are being planned.

How much will it cost?

If you are a member of the Sandwich Chamber of Commerce, the cost is NOTHING at all!! With the support of the Sandwich Chamber and the New England Bookseller's Association, this year's membership is absolutely free to all qualifying Chamber members. If you are not a Chamber member, you can join and participate for free. 

If you just want to give us a try, you can join this year for $100. We're new and we don't have a track record to show what we can do, so we've created a special trial membership in the Shop Local campaign.
